Default Where can I find the quest to change my second prof?

Hey, I want to change my second proffesion but I have a few questions.

-Where does it start? Which NPC?
-How many times can I do this quest?
-Does it take long?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Each of the three outposts in the desert (Seeker's Passage, Heroes' Audience, Destiny's Gorge) has two ghost NPCs who will give you a quest. These quests, when completed, will give you the option of changing your secondary profession.

You do not have to change upon completing the quest, so they're worth doing even if you're content with your build. Also, once a change quest is completed, you are free to talk to the NPC and switch to the corresponding profession at any time.

Well, this has been answered several times, but I'll post my thing again:

This was written for my guild:

Note that you can only change your secondary profession AFTER you Ascend. You used to be able to change it by just completing the quests for the NPC's, but it seems to be patched.

OK, I now have hands-on experience with changing your secondary profession. First of all the character you are playing does not have access to all past skills at once. You have to go back to the NPC and change your profession to get access to the old skills. The NPC's for changing your profession can be found in 3 places, all in the Crystal desert.

* Seeker's Passage - Monk / Ranger
* Hero's Audience - Necromancer / Elementalist
* Destiny's Gorge - Warrior / Mesmer

Each NPC will give you a quests which you must complete to change your profession. The quests will show up in your Quest Log as: The Monks Path / The Necromancers Path / The Warrior Path / The Mesmer Path / The Ranger Path / The Elementalist Path. Once you choose a new profession you must go to Skill Trainers and purchase the skills for that profession. At level 20 you continue to gain experience, but instead of gaining a new level you gain a skill point.

This is from BETA, but is now implemented into the live game...

In addition to the experimentation that you're allowed in Kingdom of Ascalon, where you can give every secondary profession a "trial run," you can now amend your character after you have reached Ascension(usually level 20). This means that a character into whom you've invested a goodly amount of time will be one that can be changed, rather than started anew. You don't need to recast, you can simply reconfigure by a method that is tied to the upper-level story of Guild Wars. It's like doing a re-spec, but better.

Another nice thing, according to one of our game designers, James Phinney, is that when you do choose a new secondary profession, you will keep all the skills that you have acquired with your other choices. So, if you selected Elementalist as a secondary profession when you first created the character, then changed to a Mesmer secondary, if in the future you decide to revisit the Elementalist again, you'll be stocked with all the skills that the character had on board before moving to that new profession.

The bottom line is that you could have a primary character who has experimented with all five available secondary professions. That character will likely have good stock of skills in each of those lines. In fact, that character could have every skill in each of the five available secondaries. The character then, in ways not yet to be revealed, will be able to shift to a different secondary and take advantage of a long history of roleplaying character development.

SUMMARY
You dont get one chance. You can change your secondary profession AS OFTEN as you want. You have to be level 20 and then do the secondary class quests. I have all secondary classes unlocked on my necro and switch between them all depending on my role in the group - whenever you switch it saves your abilities as well so you can have every ability in the game unlocked on just one character.

Wouldn't it be easier to just post a link to another thread where it's already be pasted? Saves space AND drives the point home that people need to USE THE SEARCH ENGINE.

And while I'm getting pet peeves off my chest, some on these boards need to take careful note of how I quoted somebody's long post, but edited it to only reiterate the important bits. HINT! (yes, I know this offense hasn't occured in this thread, but I just got through reading 3 threads in a row where I saw War and Peace sized quotes.

Of all the paths, i have tried Mesmers, Rangers, and Monks. I have only beaten the Mesmers path. This one was cake compared to the other two.
For Monks path, you have to kill a scarab named Eater of Souls. However, as soon as i got near he disappeared and instead about 50 jade scarabs popped outta the ground! i only killed about half, but we were completely overwhelmed.
For Rangers path, you have to kill one of those windrider things with a really funky name. The problem here is that there are about 20 of them guarding him, and pulling one pulls them all!!! Also, my party couldnt do shit to them, since all of them spam clumsiness, so i was pretty much on the ground the whole time. Again, only killed a few before overwhelmed.
Mesmers path pits you against 3 Tempest drakes. There are only 3, lvl 25(i think). THis one was easy. They are just slightly stronger than regular sand drakes.

If someone can help me out with Monks/Rangers path that would be greatly appreciated

For the monk quest, you just have to keep killing those jade scarabs until he pops back up. It takes quite a few.

That ranger quest was the only one that I had a hard time with. I HATED that quest. The only two that compared were Villainy and the ashes quest (I ran it at a low level first time) And 20?!? You are obviously not counting the other 50 that are roaming around before you even get to where the boss is at. That was one of my "-60% upon completion" runs.

Ranger quest was definitely annoying, but if you wait -- most of the mobs leave and scatter, leaving you with about 5 or 7 or so to kill, plus the boss.

Monk's quest kept glitching for me, but I finally got it to work. At first, barely any of the jade scarabs came out, and I killed all but the boss never came. So I had to restart the quest, I was attacked by devourers, a sand wurm, and sand drakes at the same time lol, so it was crazy.. but I got it done.
